Massage Therapy
There are many benefits from a professional massage. Our massage therapist is trained and certified in many types of massage.
While getting a massage is enjoyed by almost everyone, the purpose of having a massage at our office is for more than just
feeling good.
During the exam procedure, the doctor notes any areas of muscle tension, spasm or restricted spinal joint movement.
Working under the doctor's direction, the massage therapist applies muscle techniques to:
- help reduce muscle spasm
- improve circulation
- flush tissue congestion
- restore normal tissue elasticity to the problem area or areas
In many cases, this helps to relieve the pain and speed the bodies healing process as well as improving muscle
tone and overall spinal mobility. Many insurance companies recognize the benefits or massage and provide for re-imbursement.

Rehablitation
Most times following an injury, the pain and tissue damage result in decreased movement and inactivity. This is turn will
lead to loss of strength and flexibility. Once the pain has diminished by utilizing chiropractic adjustments and
physiotherapy, some form of exercise rehabilitation is usually necessary in order to restore full movement and
strength to the injured area.
A tailored program will be designed for you and your specific needs. The doctor will most likely have you start
your program in the office under her supervision. You will then be given a home exercise program once you understand
how to perform everything correctly. As you improve and gain strength and flexibility, the program is modified to keep
pace with your improvement.
This is one of the most important steps leading to your recovery because only YOU have the power to progress. Once you
have made the choice to continue your care out of the office and stay true to your exercise program, you are making the
statement that you are committed to your health!
Nutritional Supplements
It wasn't long ago that doctors insisted that we could get all the vitamins we need from our diet. Our urban lifestyle
and our fast-food diet make that impossible. Even fruits and vegetables "fresh from the market" are, in many cases, picked
days or weeks before they are ripe and shipped cross-country. Mother Nature is not so easily fooled and we shouldn't be
either. There is just no comparison to vine-ripened in both taste and nutritional quality. Unfortunately, most of us
don't have gardens year round. So where does that leave us? This is where vitamin supplements can and do play a role in
our health. Dr. Simonds does individual nutritional symptom surveys to discern any deficiences you might have and recommend
appropriate whole food supplements.
Orthotics
Is that first step painful in the morning? Stretching of the soft tissue on the under side of the foot can place
extreme pressure on the rear foot bone causing a heel spur and/or plantar fascitis. The stretching of the soft tissue
can contribute to an uneven walking foundation and fallen arches, causing a compensatory reaction traveling up your
body often resulting in knee, hip and low back pain.
We recognize this uneven gait, wear and tear of your feet and its contribution to spinal subluxation. Your doctor
will prescribe custom fit orthotics to help relieve the pressure on the foot arch and stabilize your gait and posture,
helping you to achieve greater levels of health and wellness.
