A message from our Founder, Dr. Sheri Earley
Growing up, many days revolved around my mom’s headaches. I remember having to be quiet and try to keep my little brother quiet if I saw my mom napping on the couch after work trying to sleep off her headache. I remember the bottle of Tylenol or Excedrin migraine easily accessible in our drinking glass cupboard. I remember seeing the pain in my mom’s eyes even though she tried to hide it. I especially remember the time when me and my mom were planning on going to the mall school shopping in
Pennsylvania from New York (no sales tax in PA!), but her headache prevented her from driving that far. So many tarnished memories due to her headaches.
No doctor seemed to know why my mom was having headaches. She was shuffled around to neurologists, ENTs and rheumatologists. She was even sent to the Cleveland Clinic for days of testing to no avail. At that time, I did not understand the gravity of the situation (I saw it as an opportunity to have fun at my cousin’s house), but they were ruling out cancer which I found out years later.
It wasn’t until I was in chiropractic school that I learned how chiropractic care can help headaches. As soon as I told my mom, she started looking for a chiropractor. After no luck with a nearby chiropractor, my mom found one that treated headaches 45 minutes away. My mom committed to a treatment plan, made the drive multiple times a week and WOW her headaches disappeared! 20 years of revolving her life around her headaches was a thing of the past….
Once in practice myself I was excited to start giving patients their life back free from headaches/migraines. Being wide eyed and bushy tailed, I thought specific chiropractic adjustments alone could help everyone eliminate their headaches. Well, I was wrong. Over the course of many years and many tweaks, I have developed a multi-faceted approach treating hundreds of patients with a 95% success rate!
